Community Managers are people who want to get involved and help out with SELF year round. Typically, they represent SELF at conferences, help with outreach in their areas, and recommend ideas to help improve the conference. As a reward for their work, they sometimes get to have their expenses covered to represent SELF at similar awesome community events elsewhere in North America. Ideally, SELF would have a community manager in or near most of the major metropolitan areas of the southeast.
